Behind the Scenes - Shoot

Everyone loves a little bit of behind the scenes content don’t they? Seeing what goes into the pretty polished images that you see on our website and social media is often the untold story.

Photoshoots have quite a glamorous reputation but the reality is a lot of organisation to make sure the day goes smoothly and we achieve everything that’s needed for the season ahead.

We shoot our products four or five times a year to coincide with seasonal and new product or scent launched. The focus is given to the surroundings and settings that bring our products to life.

Both Freya and I love interiors, so it’s always exciting to style our products in beautiful locations and room settings, hoping to inspire our customers.

Last month we were thrilled to spend a couple of days with our amazing photographer Emma and the team for our Oakmoss & Thyme launch shoot. We knew what we needed to capture and luckily had the weather on our side.

We chose to shoot in a beautiful home in the beautiful market town of Stroud, Gloucestershire. It’s really important for us to find homes and locations that haven’t been used a lot by other brands so that our content can stand out from competitors.

The shoot days themselves are always really busy, with styling, product switches and chasing the most beautiful natural light. That’s really where Emma comes into her own and it’s incredible to watch her work.

Freya and I are always on the lookout for the next spot in the house we want to shoot and what products we think would work best in that setting. With this house in particular we fell in love with the conservatory and garden. It was the perfect back drop to our Oakmoss & Thyme shoot and had the most gorgeous rustic potting shed. It’s finding little spots like this that really make the shoot and the scent launch come to life.
We hope you’ve enjoyed a little bit of behind the scenes!
